Watched Crash last night

Posted on Apr 29, 2007 at 6:16 pm

Finally got around to watching the Oscar winner for this year. It was certainly worth it. A beautifully crafted movie- depicting racial tension and it’s effect on all classes and races. I particularly enjoyed Matt Dillon’s character- the typical bad cop who gets the opportunity to save the life of a woman he wronged.  In his […]

what an amazing day!!!

Posted on Apr 26, 2007 at 6:09 pm

Where do I start? You know how weeks can go by with nothing to report and then suddenly in one day— 1) Got a call from my agent today. (I love saying that) She said that she sent my book to two YA editors and one really likes the writing and is going to show […]

You know House is just getting plain irritating. I mean, the medicine has always been nonsense- from the first season- but when NOTHING they do on the show is medically sound it becomes insulting to those of us in the medical profession. Hugh Laurie is fantastic as always (I particularly liked the anagram Gregory House= […]

The Hound of the Baskervilles Russian version with Livanov

Posted on Apr 23, 2007 at 5:08 pm

Just watched Hound in Russian. A real treat for me as Russian is my native language so the english subtitles were for the most part unnecessary. My review: Watson was phenomenal, the best Watson I have ever seen. reserved, warm and intelligent- but not outshining Holmes. Holmes was good- my third favorite portrayal actually, but […]

Well I loved the last Raines episode. It made me cry, which is not saying a lot because seeing a tall handsome aloof man tear up on screen usually does that to me- but this was another amazing episode, my leaky waterworks notwithstanding.  I really hope NBC is not stupid enough to cancel this show. […]

Russell Crowe?

Posted on Apr 20, 2007 at 11:11 am

Russell Crowe as Sherlock Holmes?Hey, just when I thought that Rupert Everett had infused an unbelievable (and excessive)amount of sexiness into that character in his portrayal last year, Hollywood come along and does this. When I wrote to Lellenberg (agent for Doyle estate) last month asking for permission for my book he did mention giving permission for […]

sequel growing

Posted on Apr 15, 2007 at 7:34 pm

I have spent the last two weeks alternately jogging on my treadmill or lying on the sofa staring at the ceiling for hours.  I refuse to write even a single word of the sequel until i’ve done all the research (pretty tedious stuff, really) and until I’ve ironed out all the kinks.  Of which there […]

bits and pieces

Posted on Apr 10, 2007 at 10:27 pm

Nothing new to report on the Hartfield Affair.  I’ve recently become semi-obsessed with the new NBC show Raines. Not because he reminds me of a Jewish S.H. but just because he is awesome. I’m sure the show will be canceled and I will be crushed. So it goes…I just read Jonathan Safron Foer’s Everything is […]
