Haven’t posted for a while- no news yet on the writing front
Spent the afternoon talking to a neighborhood friend and found out that she is a horse lover. She actually spent the last few years breeding, training, rehabilitating horses. She said she had wanted to board her horse closer to home but had been looking for someone to split the cost with her. My eyes lit up. I gave up riding last year because my work schedule (and the 35 $/ half hour charge for lessons) wasn’t giving me the flexibility I wanted . I really wanted 2-3 hours at a time, not a 20 minute trot once a week at odd hours. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed- who knows? One more dream come true? she said she could teach me to gallop. **squee**

I am trying to get myself out of the dry spell by reading. Constantly.  Went through Catcher in the Rye in a afternoon. (embarassed to say I had never read it) Spent all day with Oscar Wilde’s short stories. Finished Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (Foer), re-read Nick Hornby’s A Long Way Down and next week plan on plowing though more history books on the Jewish East End in the 1890s. My work schedule is changing for the better- I’ll have one day a week off now (wednesdays) so now I can write during normal hours instead of at 2 AM.
Now if only I can stop imagining weird melodrama and work on real scenes….
